Technical Questions

Our online training is hosted by Vimeo, a popular streaming service like YouTube. If you're having problems streaming the video, here are a couple things that you might want to try:

  1. Sometimes the Problem:  Often times when the video is jumpy or stops midway through viewing, the presentation has not finished loading. This means that your connection to the internet is a bit slow (for instance, using a DSL line), so you need to give the presentation an opportunity to buffer on your computer. To do this, hit play and then immediately hit pause. Wait about ten minutes and enough of the presentation should be downloaded so that you can watch it without interruption.  
  2. Usually the Problem: Your office might have a firewall that prevents you from watching streamed video.  Our training presentation is hosted on to ensure that the stream is stable and always available.  If you're office prevents you from watching streamed video from sites like Vimeo and YouTube, then you will need to contact your tech support department.  They should be able to punch a hole through the firewall that will allow you to watch the presentation. As a last resort, our presentation has been optimized for all mobile devices.  If you do intent to watch the presentation from your device, ensure that you're connected to a WiFi hotspot or risk large data costs. 

When you return to the CNS website, you can print out your certificate as many times as you need. Simply login to your account and click on the "My Account" page.  You will see an option for downloading your certificate of training. 

Your personalized certificate of completion is available after you have completed the online video training and the review quiz (you may need to scroll down to see it!). Once your complete the review quiz, you will be prompted to go to your "My Account" page by clicking the "My Account" tab.  Once there, you will see a big blue button that says "Download Certificate."  Click this button and your certificate of training will appear in another browser window.  To save this certificate as a PDF, simply go to "File" and follow the prompts for either saving as a PDF or printing as a PDF. 

Questions About My Seal

A new law took effect August 8, 2012 that required all new and renewing notaries to include additional information in their seals.  The new seal format requires that the notary stamp include the notary's ID number, date of expiration and the traditional information (official name, "Notary Public", and "State of Colorado").  Both the ID number and notary's date of expiration can be found on the notary's certificate of commission (see next question). If you were commissioned before August 8, 2012, you are not required to replace your seal until you renew your notary commission. Use the coupon code MAX in the CNS store to order a new seal at a discounted rate. 

There are two ways to get this information.  The easiest way is to go to the verify a notary link on the secretary of states webpage.  The second method is to find it on your certificate of notary commission.  This certificate can be found by logging into your account on the secretary of state's website. 

If you ordered a seal at registration, you need login to the CNS site to get your seal made after you have been commissioned as a notary by the secretary of state.  Look to the right of where you clicked to begin the notary training.  You will see a silo called "Get Notary Seal".  If you scroll down the page, you will see three text boxes for your commissioned name, commission expiration date, and notary ID number (look aboe for where to get this information).  After entering this information, click "submit."  You will receive your seal within the next five to eight business days of order.  We'll send you an email when we send your seal.

General Questions About Training

We provide a money back guarantee for unused products within 60 days of purchase.  Because notary seals are personalized, we do not offer a refund for notary seals that have been received by a user that no longer wishes to be a notary.  If 60 days has elapsed, we will gladly transfer the training to another user. 

It consists of forty questions (at the time of this writing) and the applicant must receive an 80% or better to pass. Right now, the pass rate is about 85%. The test is meant to test minimal comprehension of the Notaries Public Act.  CNS training is geared towards helping applicants to pass the test. If you fail the test, you must wait five days before taking it again.  There is no cost to take the State's test and the test can be taken online.

We provide live trainings for groups of five or more.  If you're an individual seeking a live training course, there are a series of trusted providers of live training throughout Colorado.  In Colorado Springs, we recommend Mountain's Notary Training.  

You can sign-up and pay for online trainings through the website. We take all major credit cards and in some cases, we will invoice the user if there is a need to do so.  

General Questions About CNS

We are based out of Westminster., but provide live group trainings throughout the front range (for groups of five or more). 

Yes, when completing your online order simply put the gift recipient's name and address in the Delivery Information section and your name and billing address in the Billing Information section. 

Notary journals and notary stamps are shipped separately.  Notary journals are usually delivered within three to five business days or order or sooner.  Notary seal are delivered within five to eight business days of submitting required seal information (see above about "How To Get My Notary Seal").  Items can be expedited upon request. 

Orders are usually processed with a few days of receipt, therefore it may be difficult to modify an order once it is being processed.

If you wish to modify your order after is has been submitted, send us an email as soon as possible and we will make every attempt to honor your request.  If we are unable to honor your request, return any unused and unwanted item and we would be happy to give you a refund.
